Our Sparring Team (PST) is made up of dedicated, well-conditioned athletes who are passionate about competing against other Taekwondo practitioners from across the U.S. and around the world. As one of the main events in the Olympic Games, Taekwondo sparring demands focus, athleticism, and discipline—and PST athletes embody all of that.
PST members commit to three additional training sessions per week. These practices are mentally and physically demanding, and our sparring team members are often among the most athletic and competitive students at JK Kang Taekwondo.
The program is primarily led by Master Chan Park, who brings a wealth of experience from training at top universities in Korea, and competing at high-level tournaments. He is a four-time U.S. national champion, has represented the U.S. on multiple national teams at international events, and has placed—and even won—at major competitions such as the U.S. Open and KUY Cup International Open.
Thanks to the rigorous PST training, many of our students are prepared to compete and succeed at the highest levels of Taekwondo. We encourage all students to consider joining the PST program—not only to sharpen their martial arts skills, but also to develop the athleticism, resilience, and confidence that translate into success in other sports and areas of life. Come see what makes our champion-producing PST program so special!
